Consultation: Keshet of the Rockies works with
Child Find (though the public school system) to ensure that students
who attend Jewish day school are formally assessed should they require
special needs services through the school day. Together with day
school staff, parents, therapists, and Keshet learning specialists we
team up with Child Find to develop an Individual Education Plan (IEP)
for families seeking state-supported services for their children. This
type of collaboration with school districts and day school personnel
ensures that Jewish children with special needs get what all children
deserve: a well-rounded education that maximizes their interests and
potential.
Staff development workshops and in-service training are
also available to Jewish day schools who are instructing students with
special needs.
Educational Support:
Keshet learning specialists provide classroom support to students with
varying needs in both religious and general studies subjects. Our
specialists work directly with day school teachers through an inclusion
model. Additional pre-vocational and vocational support has also been
provided on-site at the Keshet office to help students whose
difficulties range from specific learning disabilities to challenges
associated with daily living.
Therapeutic Services: Keshet of the Rockies
provides speech/language therapy and occupational therapy to students
at their respective day schools for a small monthly fee. Assessmentts
for these types of services are provided proior to contracting Keshet
for ongoing treatment during the school day.
Keshet of the Rockies is a
proud recipient of Allocation Funds
from Allied Jewish Federation of Colorado.
